Visit a teaching hospital and work as part of a team of doctors and conduct a simulated ward round, guided by a doctor. Work under pressure to assess a robot patient on a trauma ward, perform immediate treatment and receive live feedback from emergency medicine doctors. Make diagnoses by reviewing patients' data, including x-rays, blood tests, consultation notes and medical history.

Week 1

Immersive Experience

Enter 'The GP Surgery'
- Step into the shoes of a GP to examine real patients in a simulated surgery
- Take medical histories and review pathology reports to build a clear picture of the patient’s health
- Practise your patient communication skills during routine check-ups
- Experience the dynamic between GP and hospital medicine
Specialist Consultations
- Work through cases of patients with life-altering conditions
- Take medical histories and apply the diagnostic process to determine treatment options
- Ask the right questions and make informed decisions to refer your patient to a specialist
- Decide how best to support your patient on their road to recovery
- Experience a simulated mental health consultation
Diagnostics & Patient Communication
- Explore how a doctor works through the diagnostic process
- See a patient consultation in action
- Understand patient communication methods
Trauma & Basic Life Support
- Practise administering CPR on animatronic dummies
- Learn to suture: practise stitching up wounds using mock skin
- Diagnostic Dilemma: work through a series of time-based problems to save your patient from a life-threatening illness
Excelling in Your Medical School Application
- Build an outstanding medical school application
- Creating a winning personal statement
- Practise your answers to challenging questions with live feedback

Week 2

Immersive Experience

Activities in a Training Hospital
1) The Ward Round
- Care for patients with different medical and surgical problems on a simulated ward round
- Experience what doctors do on a daily ward round and interact with multiple healthcare professionals
- Review patients’ needs and deal with unexpected problems
- Discuss test results with patients

2) Emergency Scenarios
- Handle simulated medical emergencies in theatre under the supervision of resident doctor
- Participate in an advanced interactive experience with a reactive patient simulator
- Examine, treat, and monitor unwell patients to ensure recovery
- React to changes in your patient and new information in the simulation

3) Case Conundrums & Blood Taking
- Make diagnoses by reviewing patients' data, including: X-rays, blood tests, consultation notes and medical history
- Use medical ethics to make decisions on the treatment of your patient
- Prep, clean and take blood from a prosthetic arm

4) The Emergency Room
- Be immersed in a hospital department and use cutting-edge technology
- Make quick decisions with a team of medical professionals
- Advanced clinical skills including blood taking and defibrillation
- During each scenario, you will be coached by a real doctor and receive live feedback from your peers
The Patient Lifecycle: Paediatrics & Geriatrics
- Explore the life and daily tasks of a Paediatrician and Geriatrician
- Your turn: Learn how to administer a vaccination using all the tools and equipment on a skin pad
- Discover the method of prescribing medication
- Review a patient's needs and make decisions regarding DNAR (Do Not Attempt Resuscitation) orders
Graduation & Certification
- Celebrate everything you’ve achieved over the course of the programme and receive your industry reference letter signed by professionals outlining your accomplishments
